Tenders in Ghana
Where to look, what a bidder usually needs, and the tender notices we have found on assembly and agency websites. CheckGhana does not run tenders: every tender is run by its buyer.
Government tenders
- GHANEPS (Ghana Electronic Procurement System)
The official e-tendering platform for public procurement. Register as a supplier to bid, get tender alerts and download tender documents.
- Public Procurement Authority (PPA)
Publishes notices and standard tender documents, and runs the central supplier registration. Entities must advertise tenders on the PPA's site under the procurement law.
- PPA tender listings
Tenders, expressions of interest and prequalifications. This portal was not reachable when we last checked, so use GHANEPS if it does not load.
Ministries, agencies and Assemblies also post on their own websites and notice boards, and projects funded by development partners (such as the World Bank or the African Development Bank) usually advertise on the funder's own procurement pages.
Private-sector tenders
There is no single portal. Large buyers such as mining, oil and gas, telecoms, banks and NGOs usually run their own supplier registration or vendor pages: register on each buyer's site and keep your documents current. For example, a recent oil-and-gas tender asked bidders for a valid tax clearance certificate, VAT registration, SSNIT clearance and PPA registration.
Be ready to bid
Most tenders reject a bid whose documents have expired. If you own a business on CheckGhana, open Tender checklist on your business page: it lists the usual documents, tracks their expiry dates and reminds you 30 and 7 days before they lapse. Every tender lists its own requirements, so always read the notice.
Tender notices from assemblies and agencies
Found on the buyers' own websites. We link to the original: check it there for the closing date and documents.
